It can only get better from here…
So I got back from Montreal the other day. Not the best of North American cities, but decent. One thing I dislike about Canada is that they are always comparing themselves to the rest of North America. In my mind, that shows a real testatment to their lack of… idk, things to brag about. Here in America, we tend to only compare things to the rest of America. It’s because we’re so great!
Anywho, Montreal reminds me of what I envision 1981 New York City to be. Failing infrastructure, gritty appearance, subtley intense social tension, overly prideful, and a lack of funds to get things done. All in all, my time there was great. The dollars’ doing better than the Canadian dollar so I got to buy more with my money, I got to see many new things, and I made a few new friends.
Montreal came into my life at the perfect time; right before the end of my schooling career (at least for a short while, Lord willing) and right after a depressing two weeks. It can only get better from here…
